Services
The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Office of Regulatory Services (ORS) monitors, inspects and licenses or registers primary health care, long-term care and residential child care facilities, programs and services. We also inspect some of these facilities for compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
We have implemented new initiatives and actions to protect Georgians and provide you with better services. In FY 2007, we:
- Conducted 5,484 annual inspections of a variety of state licensed and/or federally certified facilities
- Investigated over 2,800 complaints about care in over 13,000 facilities
- Took 380 enforcement actions
- Revised or implemented licensing rules for many programs
- Posted over 6000 inspection reports online so you can better choose a provider
