Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)
- Definition:
- An entity that undertakes to provide, arrange for, pay for, or reimburse any part of the cost of any health care services.
- Exemptions:
- None
- Type Regulation:
- An organization must obtain a certificate of authority from the State Insurance Commissioner after inspection and review by the Department of Human Resources.
