Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)

Definition:
An entity that undertakes to provide, arrange for, pay for, or reimburse any part of the cost of any health care services.
Exemptions:
None
Type Regulation:
An organization must obtain a certificate of authority from the State Insurance Commissioner after inspection and review by the Department of Human Resources.
